Use This *Command sets the file type of the named file to the given textual file type or hexadecimal number. h4. Syntax *SetType _filename filetype_ h4. Parameters |<^{width:8em}. _filename_|<^. Valid pathname specifying a file| |<^. _filetype_|<^. Filetype text description or 3 digit hexadecimal filetype number| h4. Notes If the file does not have a date stamp, then it is stamped with the current time and date. Although the command allows for the three digit hexadecimal code to be used without an Ampersand sign, it is highly recommended that one always be used. This is to stop any ambiguities with three character filetype names. h4. See also * [[File Types]] * [[*DOSMap|*DOSMap]]
