Getting in Touch
ROOL is run by volunteers so we will do our best to respond as quickly as we can but please forgive us if it takes a while! For general RISC OS questions please make use of the ROOL forums where you can ask pretty much anything about RISC OS and you’ll be more likely to get a quick and helpful answer from all the people who are posting there every day.
For specific issues, ROOL has some dedicated email addresses to route your request to:
Sales and Purchases – notify@riscosopen.org
If you have any questions relating to items which you have bought from ROOL, including questions about delivery times, reporting issues or problems with the ordering process.
Desktop Development Environment – tools@riscosopen.org
Any enquiries, issues or requests relating to the Desktop Development Environment (DDE) tools should be directed to this address.
You can also buy the DDE and upgrade online from here.
Raspberry Pi users can get the DDE for a reduced price as a part of the ePic pack.
Code submissions – code@riscosopen.org
For submitting changes, bug fixes or other updates to RISC OS please send changes – along with a log describing the change – to this address where they are placed in a queue and processed in the order they arrived. This is OK for occasional submissions, but you may wish to become a developer on our GitLab and do it by self service.
Book reader’s comments – manuals@riscosopen.org
Any typos or suggestions for improvements to the various reference manuals and user guides we publish should be sent to this address. There’s a form inside the back cover of all the manuals to use as a basis, and we’ll note the feedback for consideration when the next edition is printed.
Allocations – allocate@riscosopen.org
If you are writing some software for RISC OS and want to ensure that it doesn’t conflict with anything else (e.g. uses the same name), then you almost certainly need to use our allocations system. We try to respond to allocation requests within five working days. More information about allocations can be found here.
Web site issues – webmaster@riscosopen.org
If you have any issues with our web site, be sure to check our forum and bug trackers (assuming they are up!) to see if it is something that we are already aware of, otherwise send your message to our webmaster address.
Software packaging – packages@riscosopen.org
If a package you expected to be in the index on packages.riscosopen.org isn’t appearing in PackMan, the server isn’t doing what you expect, or you’d like your site to be indexed, ask the packages administrator to take a look.

For anything else, please use our info address. But please try to avoid sending general RISC OS questions to us – you’ll get a much better and faster answer on our forum!
