Acorn SCSI Podule ROM
This is a ROM upgrade for the Acorn AKA30/AKA31/AKA32 expansion card, originally produced by Acorn. The ROM is fitted to the SCSI card itself as it may be connected to the boot harddisc or CD drive.
The software is StrongARM compatible and works with RISC OS 3.60 or later, including RISC OS 5. The driver is automatically detected by the !DiscSetup configure plugin used from RISC OS 4 and later, or can be manually configured via the command line.
A revised SCSI filing system includes support for FileCore's big discs which were introduced in RISC OS 3.60, and long filenames from RISC OS 4.
The update also includes an up to date C library, CD driver for SCSI hosted CD-ROM drives, and the SCSI desktop filer.
Installation requires 5 simple steps:
- Unplug the expansion card from the backplane
- Gently prise the EPROM from socket IC5 with a flat headed screwdriver
- Insert the new EPROM into the socket
- Reseat the expansion card into the backplane
- Switch the computer back on
The ROM upgrade costs just £10 plus P&P.
