Hi Krzysztof! Right now, if the idea of having official, full quake game (ie. so you can play full game + mods) and the various add-ons/expansions doesn’t appeal, it may be best to wait. This version does have nice frontend (and good controls), with easy mod selection and so on, but right now, it is not as elaborate an edition as some of our other ports. My focus was on ensuring it ran on large number of machines etc. I am still “arm-restricted” but I hope to test a new version before the weekend. All being well, that will give a big improvement and then I would give it strong recommendation to you. I have also now been in touch with Chris about his Pi3 so hopefully that will progress too. Hoping to get new x-rays and meds today too! :) |

Thanks for the reply, I will wait then. Good luck with your arm, I wish you quick recovery! |

Quick update – the new version seems like a big improvement – Pi3-safe, double the framerate (60fps rather than 30) thanks to VFP-based acceleration, improved mod support (Malice now works, plus various others), better resolution and improved stability. I’m not going to claim perfection, but it’s the version I’d want to play! I haven’t yet had a chance to update the master .zip file (soon), but anyone who has purchased it can email me at the usual R-Comp address for an update. (Arm/shoulder permitting). BIG thanks to Chris for his assistance with this. |

And the mouse can now look up/down too (previous version was only left/right). |

You’re saying that to wind me up, aren’t you? ;-) https://www.riscosopen.org/forum/forums/1/topics/10398?page=1#posts-74893 |

I revise my statement to “the default configuration was left/right”. The engine probably supported up/down. Alternatively it always did but PatchSWP broke it (unlikely, I know!) |

Not sure about your mouse problem, Chris. In Quake, the “factory default” mouse behaviour is for left/right to move you left and right (or rotate?) and up/down to move you forwards/backwards. This was how id designed the game, and is the “out of the box” behaviour for that reason. The drop-on alternative configs that we provide with the game (in the Controls folder) enable a more traditional mouse-look (up/down looks up/down, left right looks left/right) and WASD movement/strafe. In testing, I’ve not seen this misbehave – it is possible PatchSWP affected this, but that’d be pretty odd. Anyway, important thing is that it is working right for you now :) |

The upgraded version is now available on !Store, along with profiles to use the extra speed for extra resolution, widescreen or speed (60fps), or a mixture. |

I just bought a copy of Quake Resurrection and I love it! It works like a charm on my RPi 2, and comparing to SDLQuake it’s super fast and very stable. Definitely worth the money. Thank you! |
