IconMover allows you to rearrange your iconbar icons by dragging them where you want them. A long standing bug and occasional thrashing with long iconbars have been cured. Download from the usual place |

Just tried IconMover 1.04 on ARMX6 OS 5.25, and it works fine for all icons to the right of the system disc ones, but not for CDFS, boot SSD SCSIFS, two SDFS and any ShareFS devices. When clicked on, these icons get long empty spaces added to left and right of them, and cannot be moved back again without causing more gaps! Anyone else seen this problem? And is it possible to use the app to set up a tailored icon bar during boot, rather than using it only manually? |

I’ve not seen that happen before, no, though I’ve only tested it on 5.22. IconMover works by deleting the icon you are dragging and asking the Wimp to recreate it the other side of any icon you drag over – apart from some cleverness to ensure that the icon number always stays the same, IconMover leaves the hard bit to the Wimp – the positioning is actually done by the Wimp’s icon prioritisation functionality inside CreateIcon. Has that been tweaked since 5.22?
Sadly no, though I’ve thought about an alternative command-line version that would specify icons by Task Name and Icon Text. Icon numbers are subject to change, so there has to be a portable way of specifying ordering. |
