SD cards for RPi

I tend to **ss about a lot (mess?) with my RPi SD cards and manage to destroy some occasionally. I’ve just ordered some (4) class 10 cards at a good price from Amazon: OK – the link didn’t work! They’re Toshiba 16GB M203 MicroSD Class 10 U1 100MB/s with Adapter, Black. Afraid you’ll have to do your own search! £2.90 each, postage 99p for 4. |

Good price, but they are far from speedy under RISC OS (you can imagine how many of these I test!). Probably OK for **ss-ing about, but they’re about half the speed of better brands (or better Toshiba cards) under any kind of load. |

This is in Announcements because?
There are three places I absolutely would not trust to send genuine SD cards – eBay, Alibaba, and Amazon. To many fakes, too little concern by the powers that be to do anything much about it. [as long as they get their cut…]
Never paste Amazon links. All that gibberish is tracking info. Look in the article description for something called the ASIN. Suffix /dp/ to the Amazon base URL, followed by the ASIN and then add another slash to the end. Example (not a recommendation, just the first thing that came up looking for SD cards): https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B00MSQYX8Y/ Follow ups, please, to somewhere other than Announcements. Thanks. |
