Possible delays in R-Comp/RCI dispatch and email replies for next couple of weeks

Just a quick “heads-up” for everyone – we may well be quiet, uncommunicative, or slow to dispatch for the next couple of weeks. Since many of you know her, Diana (mother) was rushed into hospital at the end of last week and is due to be operated on shortly. Obviously Allan (her husband) and myself and Steph are spending a lot of time at the hospital, and that’ll impact our availability over the next few days. We’ll still be fulfilling order and taking new ones, so please continue to help keep food on the table for us! However, there may be pauses or short delays in dispatch – I hope no more than 24/48 hr. If you get the answering machine on the phone, you’ll understand why – leave a message or send an email – we’ll get back to you ASAP. Many of you met Diana on the R-Comp stand at the many RISC OS shows and although she hasn’t done exhibitions for a few years, she’s still involved in the business taking orders, picking items and packing packages. She’s conscious, but in a lot of pain (she had a pre-existing back/leg condition) and would definitely appreciate any good thoughts/prayers you might spare. I hope normal R-Comp service will be resumed in time for the SW Show later this month. Best wishes to all, and thanks for your understanding/patience. |

As you should be. Family comes first, period. Best wishes, to her and to you. Seeing a loved one in pain is no fun. Especially when you realise that there’s nothing you can do other than just be there. But, you know, sometimes that’s enough. |

Thanks Rick – wise words and much appreciated, given what you’ve had to deal with over the last few months. Thanks :) |

Best wishes to you and your family. It will mean a lot to your mother that you can take some time away from work to be with her, I’m sure. All the very best. |

Dear Andrew, as I’m not a regular customer I’m not likely to be impacted by your temporary difficulties, but I can imagine that this is a very stressful time for you on a number of levels, personal and emotional as well as business, so I wish you and your mother all the very best and hope her treatment succeeds and that she recovers as well and quickly as possible. |

Thanks everyone – patient has had surgery and is slowly recovering, but will be in hospital until at least next week, as there have been a lot of ups and downs. |
