RiscLua802

RiscLua801 was compiled for use with newer ARM CPUs, that support VFP. At the request of Richard Wheeler I have also put out on my website a RiscLua802 for those who have older machines or Virtual Acorn, that do not support VFP. Its binaries, Not having an Iyonix any longer I am not really in a position to test RiscLua802 properly. I would be grateful for any feedback from those who do. |

Thanks for supporting obsolete CPUs. I can’t justify using anything better than an RPi Zero with RO. otherwise it’s mostly wasted hardware features. Mostly. Mid 90s I got used to having an FPU. |

Richard was having problems with RiscLua802 so I put up a revision which is no longer statically linked with its C library. And he says it works.
I am intrigued by this position. Waste has been the driving force of our society, at least until a month or so ago. But it turns upon the rather dodgy belief that we know the proper uses of a thing. What is waste? What is economy? By the way. The latest zips of RiscLua on my website contain a new Weave library. Weave version 4 has ceased to be a separate application but has reverted to being just a Lua library. It is far more compact and simple than previous versions. I recall that Archive magazine carried a two part article by Harriet Bazley, Weaving Your Website, in May/June of 2002. |

Waste has always been something which at best irritates me. TBQH a lot of what I own is secondhand, recovered, reused, or “upcycled”. Back to Lua. I’ll grab a current update shortly. Thanks for the heads up on the additions. |
