KeyMapper Module Configuration app released

KeyMapCfg is a small utility to allow easy configuration of James Peacock’s KeyMapper module. Normally this requires setting up with *-commands and a knowledge of low level key numbers. KeyMapCfg allows you to pick the keys you wish to map from a drop down menu. Drag an existing setup file to the app, or start a new configuration file. KeyMapCfg is available to download now from !Store. Any feedback regarding bugs, glaring errors and omissons, or feature requests welcome. With thanks to Stuart Painting for beta testing and pointing out the first lot of bugs and errors! |

This certainly fills a need. Just one minor snaglet, Menu Quit doesn’t. Setting ‘Click action’ to ‘Other’ &82a91 (Quit_Quit) works here. |

Hmm, it definitely quit when I first tested it! Thanks for pointing that glaring mistake out! I wonder what happened there. New version now uploaded to !Store. I’m still learning the Toolbox and I’m not a proper programmer, so expect to find more glaring bugs! |

That’s a very useful tool, thanks Andrew. If you’re looking to expand its capabilities, I have a couple of suggestions: Instead of the long lists of keys, maybe some sort of Chars-like grid? And, when Lockscreen ocassionally crashes on my machine, it leaves all the keymappings in place, turning off my Ctrl key, how about a “revert to standard” option that de-maps all previous maps? I’m disputing that you’re not a proper programmer though… |

That could be quite complicated as there’s quite a list of keys, plus if new keys were added to RISC OS the window would have to be changed. I’ll think about it though.
There is a *keymapreset command provided by the module which will do what you want. |

New version uploaded to !Store which, by request, copes with people using hexadecimal(!) values for key codes in their config files! |
