Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club Meeting on Wednesday 4th November at 7.45pm Pot-PourriRob Coleman will be talking about emulating other 8-bit micros on the Beeb, including the Sinclair ZX81, Jupiter Ace, ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC, using a Raspberry Pi via the Tube. Andy Vawer will be talking about his current and recent projects, having returned to the RISC OS fold after several years away in Linux-land. He will give some background of what he worked on originally back in the 90s-00s, and then cover the bounty bits (Clipboard and PNGs), and possibly reveal some new projects. Steve Fryatt will be talking more about some aspects of his recent projects that he didn’t have time to cover at the London Show. This ‘virtual’ meeting will take place using the Zoom conferencing service. Zoom invitations will be sent out earlier on the day of the meeting, but only to those who email info2020@wrocc.org.uk expressing their intention of taking part. If you would like to be part of the meeting, please RSVP – at the latest by the end of Tuesday 6th October. If you haven’t used Zoom before, we suggest that before Wednesday you try to join the Zoom test meeting at https://zoom.us/test on the device that you intend to use, in order to check that your system works OK. It is just a meeting with yourself, but it allows you to check that your sound and video (if required) are working properly. You might be asked to install the software, but the Zoom website should take you through this. It is not necessary to sign up for a Zoom account: both the test meeting above and the Club meeting on Wednesday can be accessed without one. Annual membership of the Club is available for those living near and far at £15, but new members receive a 50% discount in their first year of membership: ie. £7.50. Members receive:
