!USBScopePlus test version

I’ve just put up a ‘test’ version of “!USBScopePlus” for anyone interested to try out. It can be found here: http://jcgl.orpheusweb.co.uk/temp/USBScopePlus_rc.zip In addition to the oscilloscope + spectrum analysis + etc measurements of !USBAudioScope this adds the ability to symultaenously generate test waveforms. So forms the basis of a ‘probe-response’ measurement setup. This version lacks various things I will add later on, but I’ve released it so people can see what is planned, and may find it useful as-is. There is an extensive !Help file. But as a summary: It can use a connected USB DAC and ADC at sample rates up to 192k samples/sec. So offers a measurement bandwidth of up to 90kHz. Also works with 24 bit sample values. Works here with my Focusrite 2i2 and a DACMagic Plus, for example. At present only sine and square waves are available, however other types of test waveform will be added, inc one for a user-created wave. Main snags with the test version are: 1) Can’t yet use the older USB Audio Class 1 DACs. (The ones I used above are all Class 2.) 2) The input values the user can adjust aren’t ‘sanity checked’ so you need to know the limits to adjust them. (Detailed in !Help.) And of course, it requires the OS to support USB Audio, so you need a suitable OS version. Works nicely on my ARMX6. This version is single-tasking. But someone else is working on a muiltitasking version for those who’d prefer that. Feedback welcome, if polite. :-) Jim |
