TBX C++ library version 0.7.6 has now been released.

The main features of this release are:

• Removed Alpha from version as it has been used in distributed programs for over 10 years.
• Support for the RISC OS global clipboard.
• Added support for TreeView Gadget
• Added support for Tabs Gadget
• Added Window key and mouse listeners to listen for events on a Window and it’s components
• Added Caret class to set and read wimp caret position
• Added show_centred & show_at_pointer when showing an object
• Added Window focus method to set the focus to an invisible caret in the window.
• Added key_pressed function to check for current key presses
• Added intersect & infate methods to the BBox class.
• Added clip methods for setting/getting graphics clipping area in the OSGraphics class.
• Added MemoryLoader class as a userful helper base class to create a Loader.
• SpriteArea clear method and improvements to sizing of sprite area.
• Fixed bugs in subwindow alignment flags and montonic time comparison functions.
• Fixed packaging after last release include intermediate built files

TBX is a C++ library to help with the development of
C++ applications for the RISC OS desktop.

It comes with a userguide and reference documentation.

TBX is released under the permissive X11 licence so can be used
with commercial and non-commercial applications without charge.

Addition downloads provide some examples and a
program to help generate simple C++ skeleton projects.

All these packages can be easily downloaded using a
RISC OS Packaging Project manager e.g. !PackMan.

Hi Alan,

Are there any guides/tutorials that you or others have written for TBX? I’ve got stuck just trying to build the examples as I’m not sure what I am supposed to do to build them. Running the makeAll file returns a message ‘make not found’. I’ve tried setting the directory to the src of one of the examples and running ‘make’ after launching GCC but I’m guessing that’s not how make works on RISC OS.

make not found

make is not supplied with GCC these days, it needs to be added from PackMan.

Once make is installed and with a WimpSlot of 24MB the examples build except for FixDeps which on closer inspection isn’t actually present. On even closer inspection there is a line to comment out in !TbxClip.src.Makefile

CleanAll didn’t, rm is not present on my machine. (It will be in one of the Linux tools downloads. (CoreUtils via PackMan.))
