R-Comp / RCI Pre-Show Live Stream

Since we’ll be at the show in a diminished capacity this time, and with a thought for our overseas friends and customers, I thought it would be fun to have a Live Stream Zoom session tomorrow (Thursday). The “meeting” will be open to everyone via Zoom, and be livestreamed on our freshly minted YouTube channel. It’s a brave new world! The event will take place at 6pm tomorrow (GMT+1 aka BST) which should be 7pm for our European friends. This should be OK for US/Canada, but I’m afraid our Aus/NZ friends may need to go for the Youtube option later. Sorry guys. Topic: R-Comp / RCI Pre-Show Live Stream Join Zoom Meeting Meeting ID: 951 0412 6386 Our new Youtube channel is at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfnYzqr-TugE9m9bV7NpqsA Apparently you need 100 subscribers before you can have a nice URL. Edit: Try https://www.rcomp.co.uk/youtube In the meantime, please subscribe to facilitate that (if you’re willing). I’ve left up the embarrassing test videos that we did this afternoon – if you’d like to see a bunch of newbies cluelessly bumbling, feel free to look, but honestly, you’ve probably seen more entertaining party political broadcasts! Anyway, I hope to see folks at the Zoom meeting – there’ll probably be an hour or so of me blabbing, followed by a more open second half where we’ll do questions or just shoot the breeze about all things RISC OS. |

That would probably be a bit of HTML on the R-Comp website… |

@steve Pampling – yep, but my track record on the R-Comp website isn’t exactly, erm, “gold standard” is it! :) |

@Andrew McCarthy Will see what I can do! |

I’ve just done that and logged in with one of my Gmail addresses. The password field was filled with asterisks. I clicked on the eye symbol to see what it thought the password was and… PANIC!! PANIC!! PANIC!! Feel free to panic anytime now John. It showed the admin password of my VM Superhub. How on earth has Google got that?!?! Slowly, it dawned on me that it wasn’t Google that was displaying the password, it was Firefox’s password manager. Panic over but pulse rate still a lot higher than it should be. |

It was a good talk, informative and forward looking. Sound quality was good which is not always the case for RISC OS presentations. I watched on YouTube having contrived to be an hour late, and I subscribed. Thanks, nice job. |

subscribed too. Hopefully soon you’ll reach 100 subscribers. cheers. |

I, too, found the talk informative, great things coming from RComp; an m-ITX motherboard, new computers, a laptop and software; exciting times ahead. :) [Edited: to email] |

Forgive me, Andrew, I’m not quite understanding what you’re saying. The ITX board has 3 PCI-Express routes – expansion slot, USB3 and SATA. Are you suggesting that we do away with some of that (would certainly reduce cost)? I’m tired, so perhaps I’m being daft, but if you wouldn’t mind elaborating, it’d be really helpful. |

Thankyou also to David and Paolo. I hope I’ll be able to produce more content in due course :) |

Andrew, it’s great that there is going to be more content for RISC OS users, enthusiasts and curious on youtube, I think it’s time. |

Andrew, big thanks for the YouTube presentation, saves downunder fans from getting up at 4am. Very exciting developments from RComp. |

Thanks Andrew – as per Norman’s comment – the youtube presentation is much appreciated and makes access viable for us in the antipodes. |
