Announcing the release of !Siggen2 an update of Iain Castle-Andersons signal generator !siggen, it has been rewritten using Dr Wimp 5.02. By Jon Scott This has been updated to make it Pi/Riscos 3.7 to 5 compatible. This involved rewriting for Dr Wimp 5.02 and removing or replacing obsolete modules. Replacement 32 Bit Compatible voice modules were created to complete the project using an updated version of !Wavegen It works up to about 9KHz before the fixed output sample rate (44.1 KHz) degrades the sine wave too much. The user interface has a slightly improved frequency selection. Versions of the updated program have been tested on a Pi, RPCEmu Risos 4, ARMini and an Omega. I don’t have any website at the moment so another user of this site is hosting the files for me at http://davidsaunders.cwahi.net/downloads.html Thanks to DavidS for providing the Webspace A beta release of this software was available on Davids Website for several weeks the offical Release version is released today |

If you’d like to contact me privately on the R-Comp address, we can get you set up with a !Store account and host it there for you. |

As well as !Store as mentioned by Andrew, consider also packaging – and shortly after the show, I think I’ll set up a ‘RISCOSitory repository’ – whereby people can send me their software if they don’t have any suitable webspace, and I’ll put it on a general downloads page. It won’t be a full blown web app; just a static HTML page which will be generated locally here and uploaded whenever I (am sent and) add something. |

Jon Scott hasn’t posted to the forum since August 2013 so I suspect he won’t have seen the recent replies. Or does anyone have a 2013 copy of !Siggen2 ? n.b. it is not on the waybackmachine:-( |

Jon – dunno. David – I think you will find him as DavidS in various places. Pi forums etc
Ah, now I think you may find that wayback doesn’t have a copy of that site probably because it wasn’t there each time wayback scanned – you often get what you pay for and it was free hosting. |

I spotted this thread, I am not here often. I have been though my old emails from 2013, I have found the 3 sound programs I developed. At the time there was not much interest in what I had done so they just got forgotten. If someone want them you can have them. Where can I upload them for use by anyone who wants them ? Two of them might be worth including in the Risc OS distribution as utilities they allow anyone to create new relocatable sound modules, either periodic or sampled sounds. Old programs using these type of samples can be brought upto to date by creating new samples and it is a good way to create sounds in simple applications. Regards Jon Scott |
