One thing mentioned that evening was that the Cedar Court hotel at Bradford was fully booked. It is now fully booked for every day in the whole of 2023 after some time in February. Looks like they might also have a long term contract – perhaps for housing foreigners seeking asylum? |

Do you know this for certain? or just speculating? If you have an issue rather then posting in this public forum, why not ask me, then I can further investigate. It does not help the show and the community or for that matter the club. We know they have regular coach parties staying there. I know you really wanted to stay at the hotel but there are other hotels nearby. In any case the hotel will get cancellations and thus rooms can become available. I will investigate with the hotel senior management tomorrow. |

A couple of months ago I came across this video It is 11 months old but I suspect the Hotel may still be mothballed now. |

I regretably watched the video, and whoever they were kept saying the car park was a a public car park for instance it was not its a private car park, there was also a replay of online chat about the video and all the chat I saw was of a racist nature. Cedar Court Hotel Wakefield is closed till late April/ Early May when there contract with Governemnt is due to expire. Hence why the show will be at the Bradford Cedar Couirt. The hotel management at Bradford have confirmed there is no impact on our Show, but there is currently no accomomodation available at Bradford Cedar Court. |

That’s the Cedar Court in Wakefield, though, not the Bradford one. The Bradford hotel have confirmed to Chris Hughes, after Chris Hall’s post above, that the booking for the show in April is still on but that they are not taking bookings for accommodation. For those wishing to stay overnight in the area, there’s plenty of alternative options – including a Premier Inn and a Campanile located at the other two junctions on the M606. For those on public transport, 30 seconds on t’interweb tells me that there’s also a Premier Inn within walking distance of both Interchange and Forster Square in the city centre. If I get chance, I’ll put some links on the show’s travel page at some point. In the meantime, I’m sure that Google will provide links to the websites of the aforementioned hotel chains, as well as to sites that will give details of many other options within any geographical area of your choosing. |

Looks like my post was accurate then. It recalls a quote from ‘Yes Minister’ – ’it’s always awkward when you get ill-informed speculation, especially when it is accurate!’. |

Didn’t watch the whole video. I stopped after the security bloke wisely refused to engage with those people, there was so much wrong with how she handled that (not to mention there’s literally a sign out front visible on street view that says the hotel and car park are closed to the general public, and walking in some other route doesn’t make that not be the case). I popped over to the comments and wasn’t disappointed, it was like the Daily Mail crowd had arrived. Anyway, I got the feeling that this “reporter” (ho ho, yeah, right) was looking for some sort of confrontation. Kind of sad, really. |

Not sure how? Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford is still open and the show is still on. Simply there is no accomomodation available for various reasons. As Steve has pointed out there are a number of hotels close by anyway, with probably cheaper room charges Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield which was the hotel featured in the video Chris Evans referenced has been closed to the Public since near the start of the first Lockdown and was later used by the Government to house some refugees, that contract is scheduled to end at end of April. So to repeat the SHOW is still ON. |

In case it helps anyone who wants to stay overnight in Bradford, we’ve put some suggestions for nearby hotels on the travel page of the show website: https://www.wakefieldshow.org.uk/travel |

Sorry for confusing the issue, to me Cedar Court is ingrained as Wakefield and I was wondering why they weren’t operating as normal. Glad to hear the show is unaffected by the lack of accommodation. |
