RISCOSbits are pleased to announce the immediate availability of two new products from their Pi Hard range of RISC OS computers. First is the new, ultra-compact PiRO Qube – a miniscule computer with a form factor that belies it’s power. With a footprint of only 60mm square, and a height of only 43mm, this mini monster hosts a 2GB Compute Module 4 running at 2GHz, complete with internal controllable fan and heatsink. To the rear of the case you’ll a useful array of ports: two HDMI ports, Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB ports and a USB-c power in port. Elsewhere on the case are the standard 40 pin GPIO, an easy access SD card slot and a simple on-off switch, although this can be overridden for unattended power on. The machine also has an internal 2242 NVMe slot which can be used to load super-fast Linux. Given the core of the system is a Compute Module 4, the system can be upgraded by popping out the module and replacing with a better one. The Qube even comes with an extra set of thermal pads, ready for when you want to grow your system! In addition, now that RISC OS can make use of eMMC modules, why not have 32GB of robust storage as standard. Starting at just £139, this really is a pocket rocket! Simply remove the existing base, attach the new one, and your PiRO Noir has as much solid state storage to go at as you’d like! You can even use it in Turbo mode to accelerate your apps and files. Or you can use it with EDOS to run Linux and RISC OS on the same machine. At only £30 for the add-on base, we can also supply suitable SSDs, ready to go out of the box. Just let us know what you want and how you want to use it, and we’ll do the rest! More details are available from the PiHard Website |
