Partition Manager 1.00

Partition Manager is a self-contained disc initialising and partitioning tool that can replace HForm and various bespoke IDEFS partitioning tools. It has a Wimp interface familiar to partitioning tools under Windows or Linux and supports MBR, GPT and bespoke partitioning use by IDEFS Podules. Suitable for RISC OS 3 through to the latest RISC OS 5 and supports most filesystems, including the majority of 26-bit IDE Podules under RISC OS 3.×. Download either directly or via PackMan using the JASPP source (https://www.jaspp.org.uk/packages/release) JASPP feedback thread |

Nice!! Should be a part of the ROM ;-) |

Things like this have no business being part of the ROM, but it would be appropriate to be in the HardDisc4 image, in Caution, along with HForm. |

I am slightly irritated by the text “E, old map” which hopefully cannot exist anywhere. |

That’s the mock-up screenshot – I’ve not bothered updating to an actual screenshot |

What’s the largest disc it can deal with, prior to partioning? |

The largest drive Partition Manager can handle internally is 2^64-1 sectors. The largest drive the OS can handle depends on a combination of the Filesystem, Filesystem version and the FileCore version. 2^28-1 sectors is the current max size with FileCore. |

I was very pleased to see this, (OK a month late) it is something RISC OS has needed for ages. In fact it inspired me to make the effort to get RISC OS running online again (I tried with a Pi 400 a few months ago, with no luck, still no luck, but I found out it is unsupported this time, so I’m using an old 3+ to type this). |
