Someone who should be nameless suggested at the ROUGOL meeting this morning that I should write an idiots’ guide to using !Store for distributing your software. My first stab is here Comments please! |

How about a section on how to update existing apps, with consideration of the differences between free and non-free. It looks like the site has been made simpler in this respect…’cos the first time I tried I screwed it up and created a dupe app. 🥴 |

Good idea. I fell into the same trap. |

It’s a pity you can’t check what’s on !Store via other OS,s |

A bit too late, I suppose, but I’ve got two additional comments: I forgot what ‘Source code’ is meant for, but certainly not for indicating that your app has the source code included. |

Andrew Rawnsley mentioned to me that ‘Source code’ is meant for developers to upload source code without filling the default visible catalogue with lots of source entries. |

Chris, for uploading software instead of emailing R-Comp for a username and password, you need to sign up as a Supplier at http://www.plingstore.org.uk/exec/ps/register.aw (note: http not https!). There you choose a username and password and once you’ve filled in your details you will then be able to add your software. But the software wont be made available until R-Comp have authorised you as a Supplier. |
