RISC OS at a stroke The RISC OS Graphics Pen Tablet A graphics pen tablet controls the pointer like the mouse does, but for some uses like freehand drawing and painting the pen, or stylus, is a natural and intuitive way of interacting with the graphics software. Paint, which has come free with every version of RISC OS, is an example. Once you try the tablet you probably won’t want to go back to using the mouse! Two sizes of tablet are available with bundled RISC OS software and prices start at GBP30.00 (introductory offer). Along with the hardware you get a printed manual giving hints and tips on using the tablet with standard RISC OS applications and a guide to the included RISC OS application called OmbrArt. Introductory prices start at just GBP30.00 + P&P worldwide. System requirements: the product has been tested with a number of computers running RISC OS 5.27 including the Raspberry Pi series of machines and the Pinebook. Compatibility with other configurations and versions of RISC OS is not guaranteed (but will probably work). Bundled software – !OmbrArt ‘Ombre’ in an artistic sense just means colours that merge into each other. OmbrArt is similar in some ways to Paint but with advantages to assist the artist. The initial colour and the colour it merges into can be chosen from a palette of vivid shades with a single touch of the stylus. Among the other features, brush shapes and rotations can be chosen and pictures can be imported and exported as standard RISC OS sprties. To purchase your tablet go to and follow the link to the tablets page. Payment is via Paypal (you do not have to have a Paypal account to pay by debit or credit card). Hurry – stocks are limited! |

Good to see a graphics tablet available again for RISC OS. I had a Paradise tablet on my Risc PC, and got working on the Iyonix using a USB serial port, a USB to PS2 adapter (for power), and ported 4th Dimention’s !Tablet to 32 bit, but at some point RISC OS 5.1X moved the values it needed out of zero page, so it stopped working. |

I did do a little tablet driver for CJE a few years back.
Hmm… I think I can see a problem there. 🤔 |

Am I right in thinking that it was Acorn that deprecated zero page write access? |
