At the meeting on Thursday 14th March in the Open Arms (aka Colston Arms) I am hoping to demonstrate working WiFi on the Pinebook Pro. I’ll also be mentioning how I’m getting on with 4k NVMe drives … |

… the WiFi worked with the pub’s secure WiFi but was too slow at present to do anything useful (the pub’s WiFi was not exactly great on other devices). But once connected it stayed connected. The demonstration was successful! At home it will connect to my secure WiFi, connect to my NAS, transfer small filees and get stuff using !Store. |

I try Wifi and NVMe on Pinebook Pro last two days (thankt to Andrew) and it is working well with my Wifi at home (wpa secure). I have up- and downloaded any files and wrote some mails with attachements. In summary it is faster than Elesars Wifi-Hat on my Pi4. |

Just for interest – is the Pinebook Pro 32bit only in colour – or are the other colour modes just not done yet? |

Anything available for testing? |

At home it will connect to my secure WiFi, connect to my NAS, transfer small filees and get stuff using !Store. And following a little more help from Andrew Rawnsley, unticking an option that cried out to be ticked (DNS Settings: [tick] use settings from autoconfiguration (e.g. DHCP)), web browsing now works OK. I am posting this from a Pinebook Pro using Netsurf 3.11, securely connecting to my router via SDIO and native WiFi. The software is currently alpha. |

Rick – as Chris said, the network manager is very alpha at this stage, so I’m pretty much helping each person individually get it working. That’s not really “public beta” ready, and whilst I reckon you’d be fine, I’m holding back on sending it to the full 40+ testers as I don’t have enough time to phone/email everyone individually. It needs to be a bit more polished, which I hope it will be very soon. |

Fair enough. Just thought I’d ask. ;) |
