Updates from Sine Nomine Software

Since the Wakefield Show in Bradford, we have now released updated RiscOSM map data via our web site. There has also been a further release of RiscOSM which is now at version 2.23 (03 May 2024). The main changes in RiscOSM were:

• Support for Cyrillic and Greek on maps (depending on fonts)
• Better rendering of street names

Also now on the web site are four little applications written in Python, to demonstrate how to use the riscos-toolbox system from Chris Johns:

• Water Levels: view river and rain measurements from the Environment Agency
• Map Walker: interact with Nominatim and RiscOSM
• GPX Player: replay GPS tracks from GPX files
• MPD Client: control a Music Player Daemon server

In the other software updates released at the show:

Impact gains the ability to export tables as HTML.

AtoB, the route-planner add-on for RiscOSM, can now talk to Recce to acquire photographs from Google Streetview to illustrate the route plans.
