The next meeting of the RISC OS User Group Of London is: Visions of the Impossible, presented by Nathan Atkinson Monday 15th July 2024, 7.45pm The Duke of Sussex Also online via Zoom from 7.30pm https://rougol.jellybaby.net/meetings/ Visions of the Impossible were a group of programmers that produced various games, demos and utilities for RISC OS in the 90s, with their most well known releases being Sunburst and Super Foul Egg VotI team leader Nathan Atkinson is joining us to talk about their history and tell us some behind the scenes stories. This will include details of how they came to port The Bitmap Brothers classic Chaos Engine to RISC OS, and also ported back the 3DO console version of Starfighter 3000. There will also be a look at some of the products that didn’t quite make it, such as Simisu San and racer Eat my Dust, the final unfinished game before VotI closed down in 2002. Plus there will be info about the project they were working on with Acorn, provisionally titled DeathRacer 4000, before it all fell apart :-( Our venue is right next to Waterloo Station and there is parking directly outside. Directions here – https://rougol.jellybaby.net/venue.html For any queries or to receive the Zoom link (same as previous months) contact us – https://rougol.jellybaby.net/contacts/ Bryan. |

Updated original post as it was pointed out I had the Starfighter 3000 port the wrong way around – they ported the 3DO version back to RISC OS! |
