7backup 1.21 released - with CloudFS goodness
|
I’ve released a minor update to 7backup so that it now supports incremental updates to/from pCloud via the excellent CloudFS by Elesar. pCloud doesn’t (currently) support setting the datestamp on files/folders so anything that gets copied over to the cloud ends up with the current date/time applied to it. To cope with this, 7backup now supports a “newer” option, much like Filer copy options. To put this into context, I copied a folder structure with > 1 GiB of contents from a RISC OS Titanium into pCloud via CloudFS, which took around a day to complete(!). Once there, everything had a datestamp with that date, whereas on the RISC OS side, there were all sorts of years and months. With the “newer” option, I can run an incremental backup with 7backup of the whole folder and only the things that have changed and/or are newer than their counterparts in pCloud will be backed up – that operation completes in under 20 minutes. Clearly, I could run the incremental backup on a much smaller directory to obtain more sensible backup times… :-D |
