The Silicon Dreams Festival opens this Weekend. http://www.silicondreams.org.uk/ Snibston Discovery Park, Coalville, Leicestershire Friday 5th – Sunday 7th July 2013The Silicon Dreams festival celebrates the silicon chip age. If you appreciate all things electronic, then this is the event for you. Modern and Retro, this event will feature a wide range of exhibits including computing, gaming, music, film and so much more. This will be a family event including computing workshops, retro computing and vintage gaming. There will also be a Raspberry Jam running on the Friday and Saturday. On top of all this, there will be all the attractions of the host venue including science, engineering, fashion and toy galleries, a heritage railway and an area for under 5’s. The RISC OS User Group Of London will be exhibiting at the festival, showing RISC OS on machines old, new and unique. There will be a RiscPC, RaspberryPi, Beagleboard and Pandaboard, plus RPCemu and a Pi powered laptop made of Lego! Thanks to a loan from the Centre for Computing History, we will have the only known working Phoebe on display. This prototype was produced just days before the closure of the Acorn workstation division. Come and see this unique piece of RISC OS history. |
