Scream like a girl

I’m suprised this hasn’t been flagged. Maybe it’s just me who regards this as a major piece of work, but thankyou so much for this update :-D |

Indeed, one of the items justifying the “I wouldn’t use RO5 because it doesn’t do ‘X’ and RO6 does” comments just dropped off the list. (Along with the BMP conversion) |

Yes, who is this silent hero who keeps doing great work in the sources and not revealing him/herself? I suspect Sprow. I’ll just call him/her “elf”. Great work, elf! |

I screamed like a girl and the cats disappeared. Maybe I was too convincing? ;-) Seriously though, if we can get this linked in to OvationPro, it’ll be a great way to have multi-OS documents with a common compressed lossless image format that both platforms can cope with! <squeeeeeeeee!!!!> |

Well https://www.riscosopen.org/viewer/view/mixed/RiscOS/Sources/Apps/ChangeFSI/source/ChangeFSI shows it was committed by Sprow, but I know he commits other people work as well as his own. So the evidence is inconclusive! Thanks anyway to however it was. |

This is terrific news. The next step is surely to have !Paint accept open requests for PNG/BMP when it is running, and use ChangeFSI to convert to sprite as a mid-step. Then use ChangeFSI the other way to save as JPEG from Paint. Unfortunately, I guess that would then need an alpha-aware !Paint… |

Not really. This is only in ChangeFSI, not builtin to the OS and supported by all the applications. Still good progress though :-) |

Great news and well done to the mysterious coder. Now it just needs to go into a module so it can be generally used. |

It can still be generally used via the CLI, NewsUK uses it to convert the .jpg’s/gif’s and now png’s :-D to sprites. |
