ROOL’s photos from the recent London Show can be found here. Many thanks to the organisers – it was great fun! |

Great photos, thanks for posting Steve. Looking through, I can’t help but feel that we need to attract more young people to RISC if we want the OS we use and love to continue on… does ROOL have any ideas about this? |

Any captions on the photos? Who are most of the people (the last time I met anybody in person was the big Acorn show up in London in….‘97 or so?) and what is the keyboard hooked to the Master (that’s a lot of logic in there!)? |

Erm… but apparently not with NetSurf on RO. At least all I just got was a page telling me I needed JS. Bit unfortunate for a good advert for RO, perhaps. :-/ I’ll try FF on Linux sometime. Jim |

There’s a few of us in our twenties dotted around; there’s at least six of us, haha, maybe more. I’m 27. |

Yes. The one that I keep coming back to is getting people to tell us about interesting projects they are doing with RISC OS so we can publicise these on our site, Twitter and Facebook. The more people out there see that you can easily do fun stuff with RISC OS, the more they’ll be tempted to try it themselves – and a good chunk of those people will be younger. If you have any tips for us, email us:tips@riscosopen.org.
Nope. I just chucked them onto Dropbox.
That’s a shame – I just chucked them on Dropbox because it was all of ten seconds of effort after I’d downloaded the photos from my camera onto my (Linux) laptop. |

In respect of !Netsurf displaying the photos then the latest version 3.2 with Javascript works ok for me. |

Not here, unfortunately: both !NetSurf 3.3 (Dev CI #2273) and 3.2 just show a grid of empty tint boxes where the pics should be (JS enabled in both cases). Disabling JS makes no difference. My system is a Raspberry Pi 5.21 (13-Sept-14). I use Dropbox and the only way to access it effectively using RISC OS is by sharing its folder on a networked PC. This is not an isolated instance, sadly; Javascript capability is, in my experience, more essential for day-to-day internet activities than ever. |

Stange, I have tried it again and I get the same issues as others now and no pictures showing with !Netsurf |

Same here, NS 3.3 Dev Cl #2273 :( But I had a rummage around inside the HTML source code and extracted the gubbins which link to the actual photos: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AACxCLAQtH9Vk3Ju8JhS-7p5a/DSC_8530.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AACPYtY6ZjZKQ_DZVJWPUvJfa/DSC_8531.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AADzpkJW88b_ARv_YvQRnlNYa/DSC_8532_v1.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AADPO1k7JRtJmgp22cLHThFma/DSC_8533.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AACzBPOCkN7X8u25zf4TUA3xa/DSC_8534.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AABpwgrx0RMviR9tB-SF393za/DSC_8535.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AACzAD7HWA5g5p4Ma1xqtWcha/DSC_8536_v1.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AACvDZGmJCmlsHn3aZ1vYSMFa/DSC_8537.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AAC4m-b44HCYvuIy9s0VXDbAa/DSC_8539.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AADCnBncJ2G2VrwFjoindr3Da/DSC_8540.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AAAf1Gf7RPizD6sSbbIU3ANca/DSC_8542.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AABBhm36u1ZbgBSjfe9NQyYBa/DSC_8545.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AABlqpX1r-YVCxcI_qcjZega/DSC8546.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AAA9aobsQJV5hDbTL-FOq0Yia/DSC_8547.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AAC2pUlgD5deezW2IKM9EoQPa/DSC_8548_v1.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AABS-RFBYeFrxOVatzhI056qa/DSC_8550.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AAAZppaPznjm8jjyI6rWPc8na/DSC_8551.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AAAvuq2FSjeUALU0M7RrMA52a/DSC_8552_v1.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AAB0CiDBj3AAQsl53zqOiyMXa/DSC_8553.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AABjuXrIH-qvlfv-QowYSs7Xa/DSC_8554.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AAAZ6PnUov6C5LGzPD_6Um99a/DSC_8555_v1.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AAAHRLd7zeQEFt3HN2eT1Q2Qa/DSC_8555.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AADF-XdwA2-M04sD3x8Cvc7Oa/DSC_8558.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AADPLNE3sNXsxSytCixoaaxLa/DSC_8559_v2.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j3pwtuv940d1fe1/AADPLNE3sNXsxSytCixoaaxLa/DSC_8559_v2.JPG Incidentally I was a bit disappointed David Bradforth didn’t turn up with the ‘Potted’ book (or give the theatre talk which I was most looking forward to). Does anyone know what happened? best wishes |
