I have and still use my Risc PC but would like to use its hardware with a Raspberry Pi. |

Your promlems wth the Raspberry Pi may have been due to power supply issues. Many of the early Power supplies were simply not up to the job. (I use 2Amp minimum – even with nothing else connected but the Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse and Network.) I used to use a Risc PC, but I found the Raspberry Pi to be so much faster (and uses a much smaller footprint on the desk – or, better still, bolted to the back of the monitor). I do not see any problems with file sharing between Virtual Acorn and a Risc PC (now that I have replaced the early power supplies). I can not help with printing, as that is one issue that I am currently not bothered about. It is also possible that your troubles were due to a badly fitting or incompatible SD card – the new Rasbperry Pi 2 and B+ have a better micro SD card connection. |

Pre RC14 and Beta Pi builds of RISC OS up to about six months ago had problems networking. It is now a pretty stable reliable system. |
