New RISC OS Game 'Overlord' Released

Thank you to everyone that came and bought the game at the Wakefield 2015 show.

Overlord is now available for download in the PlingStore and is priced at £9.99

A 3D space shoot-em-up game featuring 47 minutes of original music including 7 in game themes, original sound effects and graphics.

Beginner and Master modes are included. Multiple missions including ’power-ups (Warp drive, smart bombs etc), worm holes, time bombs, mini black holes.

The source code is also included (see !RunImage in the !Overlord directory).

Written on a Raspberry Pi 1 and tested on a Raspberry Pi 2, Beagleboard, Pandaboard, Iyonix, Virtual Acorn SA (running 4.02) and ARM X6.

The game can also be optionally played in French or German.

Overlord has been updated and now includes:

• A mouse sensitivity slider.
• A new (blue) ‘duel fire’ power-up.
• Improved distribution of mission objects.

This update is free for existing users and is available through the PlingStore. If you bought a CD at Wakefield or the ROUGOL presentation, then the PlingStore code in the CD box may be used to download version 1.40.

I think you should put a link to PlingStore on your Overlord web site. And a link to your web site in your announcements! :)

I googled for Overlord and found your site, then had no idea what PlingStore was and had to google for that too. Then I downloaded it and it doesn’t work (can’t connect to server, I suspect it isn’t detecting a web proxy) but that’s not your problem!

FYI – PlingStore is supplied “as standard” with the Pi SD card image.

But, yes, it could do with a bit more exposure on other systems.
