Intermittent server connection 2015-08-24

Anyone experiencing connection problems with riscosopen.org should note that the hosting service Arachsys.com appears to have a problem.

continuous ping to 8.8.8.8 (google DNS) is solid, continuous ping to www.arachsys.com shows this kind of thing:

That 84.45.27.155 is in a Connexions4London Ltd block and various ISPs seem to be reporting connectivity problems in the London area today.

That’s nearly 10% DUP, not something I see very often. Is riscosopen.org load balanced? Are multiple machines responding at the same time?

Still, it is nice that network issues aren’t down to my trying to push a weakish domestic WiFi signal (with bent-bit-of-metal antenna inside the router) through a metre-plus stone wall.

PS: The obnoxious copyright message is auto-added by the server as a statement against a dumb idea regarding so-called “orphan images”.
