RiscPCB Version 1.02

Hi

I finally have got around to updating RiscPCB to run on the PI correctly.

I have taken the time to add a few updates :-

Up to 8 layers can now be used. (6 copper 2 silkscreen)
Components now have an attached designator this allows parts lists to be produced
and also parts centres (used when placing surface mounted components)
Both PCB and Component files are now in a more human readable format.

There are quite a few changes since the last release please have a read of the
Strong help file included in the zip file.

RiscPCB can be dowloaded from www.mbelect.co.uk/RISCOS/

Not sure why I not see this before…
Very good stuff. Is what I searching for.
With Gerber import the luck would be complete.
Working fine with my Pandora and my ARMX6.

Gerber import has been on my list of things to do list for quite
some time.It’s possible to do but the Gerber format has changed
quite a lot over the years.

For instance some early packages that produce Gerber do not
output the Pad , Track width / sizeswithin the Gerber file instead
they export a file detailing the values, also this file does not have
a universal format.

Later packages like RiscPCB include the sizes within the Gerber file.
Any form of Gerber import would have to allow for different data and
allow editing of that data, Gerber has come on quite a way over the
years and can now describe different graphic shapes , circles etc,
so a good Gerber import routine should support all of these features.

As I use RiscPCB to produce all of our boards I tend to add support
for things as I need them like Surface mount design and muli layer support.

I have seen in StronHlp file that the Gerber import is of the “to do” list. Sorry, I forgot the in my first post.
Is not my business. Only hobby. The Gerber export is more important for me and worked very well.
