On the eve of the South West Show, I’m pleased to be able to announce updates to three pieces of my software. All three have been available as test builds for a while now, but are finally moving into ‘stable’ form. CashBook 1.35CashBook is a home/club accounts manager, with support for bank accounts, standing orders or direct debits, regular transaction templates and a range of reporting options. This release fixes a number of bugs, including the known ZeroPain issues, and adds the frequently requested transaction numbers throughout the application.
Locate 2.10Locate is a fast and flexible file search utility, with a range of features. This release adds ‘Default’ search settings, to allow clicks on the iconbar to open the search dialogue box in the way that you prefer it to be set up. A couple pieces of unfinished business from release 2.00 are sorted out, and the known ZeroPain issues are resolved.
PrintPDF 1.10PrintPDF is a front-end for GhostScript, which gives RISC OS a “PDF Printer Driver” to easily create PDF documents from any application that can print. This release adds some support for setting paper sizes, to override those set by the printer drivers, and fixes a long-standing and irritating bug when using Zap as your TaskWindow server.
All three pieces of software are released as Open Source under the EUPL, and can be downloaded from my website, alongside all of my other software, at http://stevefryatt.org.uk/software There’s an updated version of my Wimp Library and Menu Generation tool (MenuGen) available there too, in the Build Tools section. If I can sort out the disc image in time (which isn’t definite), I may well have copies to take away from the South West Show tomorrow in exchange for a donation to charity. Even if I don’t, copies will be available for demonstration on my stand. |

Thanks to everyone who stopped at the stand on Saturday and bought a disc or made a donation. I was being a bit vague as to which charity the money would be going to, but I’m pleased to say that – after including the money collected at London 2015 – I’ve just been able to send a three-figure sum off to the British Heart Foundation. And, in true post-show tradition, I’m also pleased to announce that CashBook 1.36 is now available – and that users with 1.35 are “encouraged to upgrade”… |
