Deluxe? I’d assumed it was just a modified version you could DownLoad and run.
Support after a short delay people are happy with, activation after a bit of a delay has more people grumbling. Bear in mind that there’s a staff of one.

That is very interesting, Aaron had said that there was a lot of work to do to get RISC OS Six running (probably why RISC OS Five isn’t there!), glad he’s managed Six in the end.

It’s like making a VM hosting system that allows multiple virtual PC’s in that host but none of the hosted instances will run Windows. Or perhaps more accurately only run Win3.1x/95 but not XP or Win7

The real question should perhaps be: why run RISC OS 6?

That is the reason many VMs are created! Running old OS’s that are not supported on new hardware to maintain software compatibility.

Because it’s 26bit so more software will work on it.

I follow your logic AIUI RO6 changed quite a few kernel bits so may be something there checked the hardware deep enough. I’m just reporting what I recall Aaron told me.

Has anyone tried bypassing the POST?

Should behave the same as Red-S – for a test just try the RO5 softload – play with progs in Apps.
