CineClips

Back in 1995 Oregan released a CD with various royalty free ARMovie clips, called CineClips. Most of the clips are now available for download from RISCOS.fr . The movies are 160×128 pixels, and are in the MovingBlocks format, so it is not straightforward to write a player for them. Is there an ARMovie player that works on the modern platforms? |

Cool.
Old problem… ARMovie worked on Iyonix… but seems to be lost today. |

The version of ‘ARMovie’ on my ‘Iyonix’ seemed to be full of 26bit code -perhaps it came from my RPC. Have had a go at 32bitting some of it – and it seems to work with the Emulator – but perhaps this can be a bit forgiving. |

The !Help file here has no date in it. But the file itself is dated 26 Jan 1994 Perhaps this version is from the RPC. |

The RPC and VRPC versions here are both dated 27 Feb 97.

It is promising that there exists an ARMovie player that works on 32bit CPUs. Colin, how much did you have to change in order to make it work? Just the codec (Decomp7 or whatever) or also part of the player? |

This thread seems to hint at the possibility of a release of ARMovie in some form… but that was 5 years ago. https://www.riscosopen.org/forum/forums/5/topics/248#posts-6254 |

Henrik – I would think each file needs checking – it’s all mixed BASIC with Asm. (all doable) It would seem best to start/lookat – with the ‘Iyonix’ version – if that is possible. Are we allowed to pass the 32bit code around? Copyright 1992 Acorn Computers Ltd |

As Castle had a version of !ARMovie for the Iyonix it is possible that ROOL now have it, somewhere, somehow. Or maybe not! |
