Some random stuff

In case anybody is interested, I dug around some old archives and CD backups and pulled out some stuff to dust off…

• EtherStat
  It’s a crappy little program that tells you if your ethernet is up or down, and reports on data transferred. Sometimes it is easier to double-click than to look at the wires. ;-)

• OvHTML
  My HTML importer for RISC OS (and Windows). Back in the summer I converted it to run on the Pi (instead of the earlier version that wasn’t entirely 32 bit safe thanks to the Castle era compiler’s predilection for unaligned loads), and while I was there I backported the changes that were later on made to the Windows version. Did I announce the update? I don’t remember, so I’ve put it here as well.

• Scan32bit
  The program mentioned here recently. Yeah… I don’t even remember writing it, but apparently I did. So since somebody suggested that I add detection for SWP, and that wasn’t hard, I added it. I also added some information to the docs about using Debugger to spot unaligned loads or ZPP issues (not something that can be scanned for, unfortunately).
  I’ll tell you what. It’s really weird working with a program you’ve not touched in sixteen years and don’t remember writing…

I’ve not done it today as it is wet, miserable, I had to work yesterday (we’re on six day weeks as the run up to Christmas is busy period), and I decided that after tweaking the software above, I’d rather just watch movies and drink lots of tea instead of, you know, doing anything else useful…
