MiniTime 1.06 released

Version 1.06 of MiniTime is now available for download. MiniTime is a small application that displays the date/time in a small icon or window. It was written as a replacement for SmallTime which does the same thing but doesn’t run on modern hardware and the licence doesn’t allow for altered versions to be distributed. This version allows you to control the position when the time is shown in an iconbar-icon by setting the iconbar position and priority. The calendar now makes sure that the current month does not start at the first grid cell of the month view. This ensures that always one or more days of the previous month are visible. A small info bar has been added to the bottom of the calendar that shows the day-within-year and week numbers of the day under the pointer. Further changes in this version are:
MiniTime can be freely distributed under the 3-clause BSD licence, and comes with the source included. As always all feedback is welcome. |

I would like to request a feature. I have a small time/date at the upper right of the screen. It’s nice, but sometimes when I push windows off to the side, the title bars end up under MiniTime. |

Thanks for the suggestion. It shouldn’t be too hard to implement something like that, could be on cs-Select though as I might use c-Select & s-Select in 1.07 (already in development). Would you want the time it stays down for to be configurable? |

That would probably be a good idea. :-) |

Would you want the time it stays down for to be configurable? Oh crap, I was afraid you were going to say that, now I need to figure out how to add it to the carefully designed choices window. ;-) This might be a moot point though as I can’t get it to work reliably. When I move the window to the bottom of the window stack the Wimp always returns an extra mouse event with type ‘Drag’ (a quick look at the source suggests that this is deliberate). So, a Select click with a modifier key can’t be used it seems. I’ll see if a double-click can be used. |
