RISC OS Open now has a Raspberry Pi

ROOL are pleased to announce that we have taken delivery of sample Raspberry Pi hardware. This is a big step forward for us to help to complete the port which Adrian Lees has been working on and we’re looking forward to keeping you posted on progress.

Note: the RPi featured in the photo is undergoing some work so has a rather vital component missing – see if you can spot it…

Brilliant news.
Re missing part: Well the red wire indicates it is a beta board with the power rail link mod, so it won’t need a new ethernet socket like the 10,000 off batch. C10, C8, C5 are fitted and it also appear that RG1, the SoC and POP RAM is fitted so you’ve got me!
n.b. want a board to plug into the GPIO pins? We got some PCBs last night and assembled some today:-) We even managed to test one on another RISC OS computer!

Doh! I didn’t realise the image was cropped. But I’m still confused, The red wire Power line mod and PCB ref. no. tell me it is one of the 25? Beta boards (UK assembled). So why has the Ethernet Socket been removed?
The problem with the Ethernet socket on the far Eastern assembled 10,000 off batch shouldn’t apply.
