RDSP v0.40 (Beta 5) Released

RDSP, the free sound module from AMCOG Games, has been updated and now includes:

• A digital chorus effect that may be optionally used in series with the existing delay effect.
• A 365 note queue for each of the 16 sound channels.
• Stereo sound placement.

This is in addition to:

• The existing digital delay effect
• A total of 16 sound channels that offer 4 waveforms, a 2 pole resonant low pass filter per channel, various modulation and PCM (WAV) sample playback.
• Partial BBC Micro legacy SOUND command support
• Integration with the SOUND and ENVELOPE commands. n.b. The use of the ENVELOPE command by RDSP is more powerful than the BBC Micro and provides access to the sample and synthesiser features.

Please note that all previous versions of RDSP are available from the
Downloads directory and source code is included.

Further, please also note, that RDSP is still considered beta quality, although it has been in use in the field for 1 year and has a reasonable body of software to provide confidence that the digital signature processing works as designed on a wide variety of hardware.

BASIC examples are included to illustrate how to use the features of RDSP – or just for fun, if desired.

RDSP can be used to:

• Provide simple sample playback in the background over multiple sound channels.
• Create music.
• Generate synthesised sounds via the SOUND and ENVELOPE comamnds
