RPCEmu

I was wondering if RPCEmu was still being developed. According to the hg repository there has been no updates since December 2016. I’m not complaining or anything. I appreciate all the work done and still use the emulator daily. I also appreciate that people have other commitments and putting food on the table is always a priority. I just hoped that either the developer was taking a break or it was being developed somewhere else. Cheers, |

For the past few weeks there’s been a pre-release version floating around on the RPCEmu mailing list. The main change is that they’ve converted it to use Qt5 instead of Allegro (which has also allowed for a (very rough) RISC OS version to be produced). For some reason this development took place in a separate repository – maybe they’ll merge it back in once it’s complete. http://www.riscos.info/pipermail/rpcemu/2018-February/thread.html |

Thanks for that. I’m pleased about that. I like the idea of having a RISC OS version. Will that allow users to play with 26 bit versions of risc os on some of the new hardware? Best of both worlds on a Pi? :) Would be interesting. Cheers, |

Yes – that’s the plan. However it’ll take a while until it reaches a usable state (currently there’s no keyboard handling, and it’s fairly slow) |
