I am using RPCEmu v0.8.9 under Ubuntu 10.04 with RISC OS ROM 5.19 but cannot access CDROM. |

I don’t think RO 5.19 supports CD ROM drives on RPCemu (or on a real RiscPC) as the IDE support is not yet robust enough. |

If ROM 5.19 does not have CD ROM support, how come CDFaker worked? I have seen comments about Host Drive not working, but they were able to access ISO via RPCEmu, but I think this was Win7 rather than Linux. If CDFaker worked I would have expected RPCEmu via Iso would also work. |

CDFS is of course part of ROM 5.19, so CDFaker works. But CD-ROM support via IOCTL does not work with RO 5.19 and RPCemu – the emulation works via intercepting IDE calls from ADFS, which is not supported in this RO/emu combination. In other words, CDFaker works via an ISO image file accessed from the RISC OS side, while RPCemu CD support via ISO works via the host OS side. |
