Running Photodesk on 5.17

I would like to use Photodesk on my RPCEmu 0.8.9/5.17 (base system is Win7 64-bit) to avoid the 28MB memory issues encountered when running under 0.8.9/4.02 but when I attempt to run the program from its HostFS location I get an error message ‘Filing system does not support this operation’ and the program will not launch. I have tried PD 3.09 and 3.10 with equal lack of success. There is no problem running either from HD4 under 4.02. Has anyone managed to use Photodesk in combination with RPCEmu + any version of RO 5, and if so, how have you set it up? Thanks.

Fifteen months down the line, now running RPCEmu0.8.11/5.20, but still the same issue trying to run !Photodesk 310 from HostFS: it loads to the icon bar, but an error message ‘Filing system does not support this operation’ instantly appears. Checking in !Scrap.ScrapDirs.ScrapDir shows that Photodesk has created an empty clipboard directory on loading, but it will not run. It works fine on 0.8.9/4.02, either from HostFS or HardDisc4 locations. I confess I’m stumped. Anyone had a similar experience, or know of a work-around?
