Has any work been done in recent years on RO !Paint, like upgrading, enhancing its Save capabilities etc? Where on the 5.nn OS is Paint, I mean the App itself, not the shortcut? Dave |

Not sure why this is RPCEmu specific, but over in the Bounties area you’ll find this long thread… https://www.riscosopen.org/forum/forums/8/topics/2146 |

It’s in the ROM, so you won’t find files for it on your hard disc. |

Paint accesses its resources via a path, so although the module publishes the default resources in ResourceFS, it is possible to have replacement resources on disc (conventionally in Choices:Paint) which has been added to Paint$Path during boot. |

In answer to Steve’s question about why here… Yes I guess I should have put it in Community Support, but I have two excuses. 1) I was using RPCEmu and RO 5.27 and reading in the RPCEmu section when the thought about Paint occurred. 2) Today, I’ve had a GREAT deal of trouble getting the login to stick… Like just moving from one section of the Forum to another would drop me out, so I just carried on from where I was. Yes I’m aware of the possible trick fixes… When they work. :-) Steve, thanks for the link to the Paint thread… On the RO 6.20 I use day to day, the Paint there (2.70) is a separate complete app in the Apps directory, which was why I was a bit confused… haven’t seen a version of Paint like the 5.nn version since way back… (Probably end of last century). Anyway, I’m now illuminated… Dave |

You might note that the version date is only a few months old (8-Jun) it’s being worked on, so if there are specific aspects you like altered/improved then a description might assist the developer. WRT the Aside. Edit I should check and install updates more often – 2.27 is in the pipeline for tomorrow, so 2.26 is current |
