Cannot launch the RISC OS Direct 5.27 in Ubuntu due to: QObject::startTimer: Timers can only be used with threads started with QThread Can anyone suggest what can be done to overcome this, all I get when I launch is: ""RISC OS 40MB |

I use Ubuntu 18.04. I see that message too, I don’t know what it means but it does not stop the start up here, I ignore it. RISC OS Direct does boot up here, I do not immediately see why it stops as above. Entering Edit This issue is fixed in the current download. HTH |

It looks like you are missing the cmos.ram and rpc.cfg files from the RPCEmu directory, as it should default to StrongARM processor, 256MB of memory, and boot into the desktop. The missing Hook directories was fixed straight after I reported it so that shouldn’t be an issue. |

Thanks, a new download is correct. It does start as StrongARM, 256MB and boot to the desktop. |
