Just for info – for that That opens a small browser application (after a while) and in that you have all the Help for GCC. |

Last night I downloaded the bundle that Peter created, this morning I ran it for the first time and checking what was in the Programming part of the install I note that there’s a few examples in BASIC (hidden away in the Documents.Manuals linked from Programming) but there appears to be nothing for C. Direct is quite a nice bit of work, but I think we need things like Direct to be easy to use for more than just BASIC programmers. 1 I’m aware, many old hands are aware, however NOOBS know pretty much nothing and need these first steps of “where to find…” spoon feeding to them. Give them a short while and they may know more than us about the system and where to find sites with other material, but not yet. |

If you could post reports like that to the “Where do we report bugs in Direct” thread in “Bugs” forum, it’d be super-helpful. I am trying to go through and improve things where possible, and constructive feedback is very helpful. The next update will be a “drop on top” small one which adds Pi4 compatibility and fixes a number of issues that I have encountered and had reported. Changes to file structure are a bit more complex ([re]moving files really requires an update script) so will be part of the bigger update before Chirstmas. In the meantime, I’ll try and add a readme file about the 16MB next slot. That’s small enough to fit in the mini update. Edit: Done. There’s now a Readme about the Wimpslot, and two files to open Examples and Docs. |

Will do for future – suggestion on new link files in that thread. Maybe ROOL could create a forum for Direct – new features, updates and bugs. |
