Aemular PDF

Has anyone ever tried to emulate a printer definition file with Aemular?

I am trying to get my old Epson EX working again on my ARMx6.

It works fine as a colour printer but the Photo PDF does not work.

Surely its not the definition file which Aemulor is needed for, but rather the PDumperXX module?

I have tried many things, and probably emulating the PDumper as well. I will try again with extra attention to the PDumper. 

I have entered the PDumperEX in Aemular again and that seems to work. But dropping the Printer Definition File (PhotoEX) on the Printer Control window leads to a warning ‘Module PDumperEX is not a 32 bit compatible’? We know that… It also has lead to a crash of the printer manager one time. It simply disappeared from the taskbar. Of course the Printer Definition File is not a module nor a program and therefore difficult to get accepted by Aemular. So it goes wrong as soon as I try to load the Printer Definition File On the printer control window, to be able to have it pop up on the taskbar.

Still, I think it could be possible if I just know the right way to do this.

I think you’ll have to run the whole of Printers under Aemulor to get that working, as a native running 32 bit application can’t use and wont see 26 bit modules, but if it’s run in a 26 bit environment it will see and use 26 bit modules.

I’ll give it a try. I’ll let you know how it goes. May take a few days…. work

I tried emulating the RISCOS 5 !Printers but that resulted in the desktop to freeze. The same when I try to emulate the old 26bit !Printers From RISCOS 4. So did not get a chance to load the Printer Definition file into !Printers. I’m just a desktop user, but I’m running out of ideas.

How long did you leave it? The system will appear to freeze whilst printing – it doesn’t multitask when generating the page.

Given how many tentacles the printer driver places while it works it’s magic, will it actually work under Aemulor?

As soon as I drop the !Printers program on the Eamular the desktop blocks. It never started working.
