Parallel copies of RPCEmu on same machine?

Is it possible to have two installations of RPCEmu on the same WinPC (in order to have a choice between ROS 4.02 and 5.16, for instance)? Assuming it was, presumably they could not be run simultaneously? George |

Don’t see why not… it’s certainly possible in Linux. There they will run simultaneously just fine. |

I’ll give it a go and report back… |

And the answer seems to be that yes, two copies of RPCEmu (RO 5.16 and 4.02 respectively) /will/ run simultaneously on the same WinPC (in this case a Dell XP 1.5GHz Celeron laptop, so not exactly bleeding-edge…). There didn’t appear to be any performance hit. !Speed gave HD read/write speeds of 10MB/sec and 6MB/sec respectively on the 4.02 version. Opening and manipulating a 4MB JPEG using Thump or SwiftJPEG was much slower than the Iyo, as are the HD speeds above, but I wouldn’t have expected stellar performance from such a low-spec XP laptop. The main point is that, just like any other Windows app, two copies of RPCEmu can be open at once. |
