!Ticker hangs on my ARMv7 Pi2

Subject says it all really. It’s the latest one off !Store. When I start, it opens the ticker window, says it is fetching the news (or something like that) and then the entire machine hangs until I kill the task. I’ve given it time (in case it’s a non multitasking name lookup) but no joy.

Is it my machine? Does !Ticker work on other people’s Pi2s?

Ticker defaults to a long gone BBC rss feed address hard wired in the app and having failed to find it stiffs itself. I recall this issue from a long time ago.

If this is a new installation then there are no Ticker Choices. (There is Default Server file within Ticker.)

A work around of sorts here was to retrieve an old set of Choices from the A9home and reset ‘Default server’ to Drobe. That worked. Acorn Arcade also worked.

So far I have not got any BBC feed to work.

Obviously the ROOL Forum feed crashed Ticker.

That’s me timed out for now. I might come back it later for a nostalgia trip.
