Saving a JPEG From Draw ...

I have drawn a picture in draw and I would like to export it as a JPEG but the option is greyed out. Does this option work or am I missing something? |

Export as JPEG is intended to export any embedded JPEGs, as Export as Sprite will export any embedded sprite. PhotoDesk will take a draw file and convert it to a bit map. DrawFile_Render will render the draw file to the screen at the desired size, which can be captured as a sprite [or JPEG, Select only] by !Paint. |

If you just want a window size jpeg you could use Snapper to grab a rectangle on the screen as a jpeg |

Thank you both. It was my misunderstanding of the software. I will do as you recommend or convert it to an SVG file. |

DrawToSprite allows you to export a Draw file as a sprite, GIF or BMP file and set how many colours it will be rendered in and the resolution or size. It can be handy if you want it rendered for printing on a non-RISC OS machine and need higher definition than a screen grab will provide. |

Don’t forget, there’s also InterGIF. |

If you are using RO 4.39 or 6.20 just drop the drawfile on to the !Paint icon bar icon. You will find Robert being your father’s brother etc. Dave Nb: AFAICR ROOL RO doesn’t have that facility. |

Correct, it does not currently have the facility built in. |

There is a converter prog Draw → Sprite. As far as I know – !Paint is not in the RO6.xx ROM. It’s a pity Progs like OvnPro can’t convert files like PNG to Sprite on the fly – like EasiWriter. So the PNG’s stays PNG. (saves HD space) Another option is – when the OS tests for a JPEG – and its not – for it to check if it is a PNG – and load that. |

Mmnnn! I could be wrong, often am, but vaguely remember… It needs to be a recentish version of CFSI (I’m using 1.60) and you’ll need to check the OvPro “!TransFSI” filter’s “!Setup” file to make sure it has the additional settings for the PNG in the "Set FFGServer$TransFSI line. … “-T &B60 &FF9” etc. (No quotes and no etc). Dave Yup! Before posting, just taken a side tour to check out what I’ve written above, ‘tiz’ correct. |

My mistake in not explaining myself better. |

Aha! I now see where you were coming from… Not being a user of EW I didn’t/couldn’t connect the dots. :-) AFAICR. Imp Publisher takes the PNG, converts to sprite and that’s it, Saves out of Publisher as a Drawfile container for the sprite. Dave |
