Disc error 7

Does anyone know what Disc Error 7 means?

The hardware in question is an 80GB ExcelStor drive in a Risc PC on the motherboard interface.

Write fault?

I posted from the RONWUG meeting, to which someone had brought a Risc PC that wasn’t working. Substitution showed that its PSU was dead, its CPU wasn’t working, one DRAM stick was dead (apparently rated for 3.3V), and the HDD was dead.

Apart from that it seemed fine.

And thanks for the link. It never occurred to any of us to look there. It should.
