Printing to level 2 postscript

Has anything fundamental changed in !Printers + postscript level 2 driver recently? I have upgraded the hard drive image on my machines (iMX6, IGEPv5 and Ti), with !Printers now at v. 1.89. I have found that printing to a postscript level 2 laser printer using a number of non-ROM fonts results in the output looking like very blocky heiroglyphics, almost unrecognisable as text. Output to screen, inkjet or SPrinter is normal, only printing to a postscript laser printer is affected. Even Sassoon (supplied in the hard disc image) fails. Have I screwed up when upgrading the various hard disc image components? |

Chris I had issues with Printers 1.89 after an upgrade and cured it by deleting the Choices.Printers directory in !Boot and reinstalling each printer driver again. I did not have the same error as you but one call was deprecated in 1.89 so may be worth a try. |

Thanks for the suggestion, Doug. Unfortunately, problem remains. |

Has MakePSFont been changed? Try reverting to an older version. |

That would appear to be the case. Sprow sent me a new test version, and that seems to have fixed the problem. |

ROL era printers development lost in the dust? |

There’s been no significant changes to MakePSFont this century. Don’t know what Sprow’s updated. |

That’s as maybe, but as a mere user, all I can say is that something became broken, and the new module fixed it (see ROOL bug ticket #447). |

I should have said “There’s been no functionality changes”. It’s always possible to break something just by looking at it of course. |
