How do I edit !Boot.Choices.Boot.Predesk?

Hi everyone, Apologies if this is a noobish question. I’ve had a go at looking through the documentation though. I am trying to follow some instructions that would have me install a module in !Boot.Changes.Boot.Predesk. I am quite damned if I can find how to get to it. When I look in !Configure, there’s an icon called Boot, but it doesn’t have anything called Changes in it. And on the SD card, there is an application called !Boot, but when I run it, it just opens the same window as !Configure. I also need to be able to get into !Boot.Loader somehow. I am using Risc OS Open 5.24 on a Raspberry Pi 3 B if that helps |

You need to actually access the !Boot application directory. The method applies for all applications (filename starts with a pling (!). Hold down the SHIFT key. Then double click on the application directory, in this case !Boot. This should open the directory in a filer window. You then need to go down the directory (folder) chain. Double click on Choices (not Changes, which shouldn’t exist). In the next filer view, double click Boot. You should then see the two folders PreDesk and Tasks, with two files Desktop and PreDesktop. Double click on PreDEsk to see the files etc within it. The loader folder should be seen at the first level within !Boot itself. Take extreme care if doing anything in there – it contains the OS and all the loader files. A wrong move can make the machine unbootable. |

A good thing is that you can press escape (many times) in order to stop booting. Good to know if !Boot gets damaged. |
